Methadone prescriber information

Post by ViewsAskew »

I stumbled on this years ago and forgot about it, just found it again by accident. It only helps people in the US.

Essentially, you can see which doctors are prescribing what substances/medications in your area or state. I wondered if this might be a way to find doctors who *might* be more sympathetic to using opioids. No idea, but seems it might.

Now, I have no idea WHY Propublica publishes this! It appears related to Medicare and federal healthcare programs, but I haven't researched it.

I just now saw your post. I saw a new doctor for my refractory RLS. I've been experiencing augmentation for a number of years. She prescribed 5 mg. methadone to assist with weaning off 2 mg ropinirole. My prescription plan refuses to fill the prescription, stating it's not medically necessary. I'm in NJ

My insurance doesn't cover it, either. I just pay cash.

Methadone is not an expensive med. I've paid cash.

You're right, but some places really jack up the price. I've paid as low as $15 for my script and had other places quote me as much as $50.
