Dr. Ondo had performed a study on this drug to determine if it can help with augmentation. The abstract doesn’t say much, but I was wondering if anyone has any additional insight into this medication and/or it’s use for RLS.

I inquired about this recently during an RLS support group meeting, and as far as I know, it has not yet been approved.

As I understand it, the clinical trial that Dr Ondo ran was essentially a trial to validate the concept in humans following studies with lab animals.
If so, there will need to be at least one, and possibly two or three, more clinical trials before the FDA would even consider approving it. It could be several years before we hear anything. And running clinical trials is even slower than it used to be due to the complications introduced last year by Covid.
