RLS treatment at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida

A good friend is getting surgery at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and found they treat RLS. I was very surprised it never came up in my searches I make on a regular basis for help in this state. Has anyone had experience there? https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-con ... c-20377180

Out of options, I'm going to try to schedule a visit when I get back from a long planned cruise postponed last year by COVID.

I had a consultation with an out of state RLS specialist who is licensed to practice in Florida but not able to prescribe schedule II or III drugs. It was the most informative talk I have ever had on RLS. He believes my receptors have been permanently damaged by augmentation (something I’ve long believed but not heard from a doctor before). He said they are working on a drug to reverse this.

The specialist thinks something like Buprenorphine is the answer but I am sceptical it can be prescribed here. He has been trying to reach out to my neurologist who is not being cooperative for some reason. This surprised me because my neurologist has repeatedly told me to seek out a specialist or university.

My search continues. Rick

Interesting, Rick. Which specialist did you see that said receptors permanently damaged? I think Dr Ondo was working on this...but I may be remembering incorrectly.
