Verapamil: can it exacerbate RLS symptoms?

Post by mssteinbrink »

I am taking ropinirole ER 4mg nightly which has worked successfully for RLS until my cardiologist prescribed the calcium channel blocker Verapamil. I would appreciate any feedback from those who might take both medications.

I can't answer your question about the use of Verapamil.
However I would be concerned about your high dose of 4 mg Ropinerole. I do understand that this has worked successfully for you but please be aware of it's likelihood to cause augmentation.
There was a time when the max daily dose of Ropinerole would have been 4 mg but in recent years the RLS Experts would suggest that in order to avoid augmentation the max daily dose should not exceed 1 mg.
