Mirapex alternatives

Post by BarbLynn »

I'm new to this site. I'm presently taking Mirapex and have had good results with it. I don't need to take it all the time yet, though I've noticed that my RLS has worsened over the past couple of years.

However, I'm looking for a generic alternative for Mirapex. My insurance is very expensive for non-generic meds ($55/month). Generics only cost $7/month. Any suggestions from the RLS community? I'd be very grateful.

Glad you're here!

Barb, for anyone that does not need drugs daily, one of the best dopamine drugs is Sinemet. It should not be used daily because it can cause problems, but for use 3-4 times a week, it is great. You can get generic, and it works MUCH faster than Mirapex.

Hope that helps some. Also, check out the sticky on how to manage RLS. There is a lot of additional information in there about drugs and links to other info, too.
