Just wondering Emily if you had the tightening in your legs before the Mirapex? Mine often feel like rubber bands stretched to the max and so painful - walking doesn't help and stretching makes the pain increase.
I hadn't considered this to be a side effect but rather part of the rls symptoms. Now I'm wondering...
Is there ANYONE who is resistant to medication like me?

Em- I had the exact same reaction to the DAs. Not only did they NOT help but I found myself augmenting at the lowest doses available. My leg and arm muscles tightened up, I felt nauseated and was jerking around like I was having a seizure. I'm glad they work for alot of people but I threw mine in the garbage. When my second specialist said "try them again", I fired him!

However yes, the Dilaudid is probably leaving your system in around 4 - 5 hours or so, and the reason it seems to wear out right away vs other treatments is because 1) that's just how it's metabolized

Have y'all tried taking a lower dose of dilaudid with a dose of phenergan? If you haven't, and the dilaudid just wears off too fast, then I highly recommend taking the 2 together.
I know that phenergan is mainly used an an anti-nauseau drug, but when it is paired with most narcotics (dilaudid, demoral, etc, ...) then it really boosts whatever benefit the narcotic offers.
I currently take 4mg dilaudid with 25mg phenergan when I need a stop-gap to get me between RLS medications and the combo works very well for me. It definitely controls my RLS symptoms and it also lasts an average of 9 hours.
