I have had RLS for about 15 years now. I have been to 4 sleep specialists and Parkinson's specialists and tried EVERY med that seems to help and THE only thing in the last that helped was pain medication. Needless to say, you can't use that all the time. I began using Methadone about 3 years ago and it does not make you high, is basically non toxic and takes every RLS symtom away. has anyone else tried this? I know it sounds extreme, but as you all know, if you have it and can not sleep, anything that works sounds wonderful.

My last resort was methadone

methadone
I have used the methadone type meds (Dilaudid days, Levorphaonol evenings) for over two years. Have been thru all of the other options over the years. No sign of addiction, have not had to increase the dose. I cannot live without sleep...this is the answer, at least for now. One never knows with RLS.

Hi there Barbara,
Your 66 yrs. young around here. We like substance, sounds like your going to provide plenty of that.
I do hope you share your past with RLS, your experience shared here is going to go far. It's a battle some days, but we want to win for all of us.
I'm on pain meds. and sleep meds., I agree with the sleep issue. I just was going mad and my health was failing so badly. I felt that a couple of good nights rest is what was needed. It has help knowing that I don't have to fight the bed or fear it as much.
Thanks so much for your post, I hope you share often with us.
