Question about Mirapex

Post by Miinerva »

Hi,

I have just recently started to take Mirapex (for about a week) and i was wondering if this sounds about normal. The creepy crawlies in my legs have diminished (but not gone away completely) but i still have this erg to move my legs and arms all the time. When i go to bed, my legs and arms FEEL fine, but i still have to move them. I take Mirapex 3 times a day, and at night i usually take it about 45 minutes before i go to bed. Before the Mirapex i was on Clonezepan but that only helped putting me to sleep for about a week and a half. After that my body was used to them i guess and i was back to not sleeping. Since starting the Mirapex i have only been able to fall asleep easily for 3 days and now i am starting to go back to tossing and turning again. I also suffer from Insomnia and according to my sleep test I have a sleep latency of about 2 hours (i believe it fluctuates between 1 - 2 hours) So i wonder if it might be the Insomnia that keeps me tossing and turning as well or can it be that my body is already getting used to the Mirapex, so fast? My sleep doctor says that if the Mirapex does not help he will have to send me to another specialist which i presume would be a neurologist but he never told me. Does anyone know if it is normal to "go back to teh old ways" so fast when being on Mirapex, or do i need to be more patient for it to help in the long run? The reason why i am asking is that everything i have tried so far only helps for a very short while, not even a month...

Thanks

Miinerva
