I started this string a week ago. Went to a sleep doctor this week who was recommended, but he never heard of Willis ekbom or augmentation.............. On his recommendation I am off of Mirapex and on .5 Requip and its 1:00 am and I'm writing this because I can't sleep.
If anyone knows of a specialist in the Boise, SLC or Denver area, please let me know. I think my next step might be Mayo, but I'm afraid of the cost, when there might be someone closer. The more I'm reading, the more confused I'm getting. And even more frustrated to pay doctors who call themselves sleep specialists and they never heard the name Willis ekbom. Just saying..............

How much pramipexole (Mirapex) were you taking? It takes 2 to 3 times the ropinerole (Requip) as of pramipexole. So, if you were taking .25 or pramipexole, you'd need at least .5 or as much as .75 of Ropinerole. Any doctor who has not heard of augmentation is not a good choice when you are likely augmented, as you already know.

Also, I think there may be a doctor in Denver discussed in the thread about good doctors. I'm seeing double - meds are working - so can't find it now. It's in the General section, I think. Or, use the search function and search on Denver or Colorado. Oh - Doety may be in Colorado. She doesn't post frequently, but if you search on her username and PM her, you can ask her about who she sees. And debbiebluebird may also be in Colorado.
