Not a clue. I didn't know some were unfriendly. Have you had issues? It hasn't come up here very often.

Re: Menopause Hormone Replacement Therapy
I tried many treatments but never tolerated them. At first before I made the connection, because many birth control pills or HRT can cause blood clotting so whenever I would have some strange feelings in my legs I attributed it to the HRT and would stop. Other time I had to stop because of breast fibroids, etc... Anyhow, I am dealing with so many other ongoing health issues that no diagnosis has been finalized yet, I had wondered since I am post menopausal for 3 or 4 years now, (age 52) I have wondered if the hormone depletion might be causing these other sicca symptoms (dry eyes, mouth, throat, lips) which also are common to menopause (low estrogen). And wanted to maybe consider another trial of HRT of some kind but didn't want to pick the wrong one...

I honestly have no idea. I think a few people may have mentioned it over the years....but cannot recall in what way.
I hope, if you decide to take something, that it doesn't make anything worse!

I've been off and on Hormones but it's hard to say if it's worse on my RLS, or if Im Augmenting on Mirapex but I think Hormones help my migraines so I started back on them. I found out a couple mths ago that developed an Ovarian cyst and I wonder if it's from the hormones.

pjmmcoy, are you saying that the strange sensations in your legs might have actually been RLS, now that you look back on it? And so you were wondering if HRT could cause or trigger WED/RLS? Correct me if I got it wrong. At first before I made the connection, because many birth control pills or HRT can cause blood clotting so whenever I would have some strange feelings in my legs I attributed it to the HRT and would stop.
I have seen a few people say that HRT causes or triggers their RLS/WED. Here are a couple of Dr. B's replies to women who thought their HRT was making it worse:
"Hormones of all type (including menopause) may worsen or improve RLS. It is very hard to figure out what will happen and why some get better and others worsen. It is therefore impossible to say if any type of hormone replacement therapy is better or worse than another."
"We have several letters on our site about hormones (HRT in menopausal women mostly) worsening RLS. The reason why this occurs is a complete mystery. It does at times improve off the HRT."
Beth - Wishing you a restful sleep tonight
