Sounds plausible - some of us have more issues with dependence than others. I definitely find any med for my RLS works better when I split it throughout 2/3s of the day. I don't bother when i first get up because I can cope. But, about 4-5 hours after I get up, I usually start with a small dose.

I also split my medication throughout the day, from mini doses to 'proper doses' at 1pm, 5pm, 9pm.
