I understand about ND :D If he's in So Cal I would guess that, once you get settled back in there, the close proximity to the doc, the climate and the family will make it a nice change from IL....which isn't all that far from ND 8)..

Night #22. Another good night! Took the Lyrica 250mg at 2030, to bed at 2200, slept at 2315 'til 0650! After a pit stop, tried to sleep again but no go. I have a little 'hangover' feeling but sure feel rested. I never really thought I'd come off the Requip and be fortunate enough to sleep and have no RLS issues with only ONE drug. I could get used to this!

Must I expect that, over time, the Lyrica will be less effective and that I'll need to increase the dose? Or that I'll need to switch to another drug entirely?

Now I'm wondering whether I should just be happy with where I am with the 250mg or whether there is a possibility that, after a few days, I could cut back to 200mg and have the same good results.....or whether I should leave well enough alone and not mess experiment at all. Thoughts?

Holland, I was able to get my Cialis Daily approved by my ins company and will start that in a day or so. Hopefully it will work well in spite of the Lyrica. Again, thanks so much for helping me with that!

You cannot use my experience as a guide of what will happen with you, but I have been taking 900mg of gabapentin for several years now. It is working as well today as it did when I first got up to this level. In fact, when I first started it, my doctor had me go up to 1200mg. I decided to cut it back to 900 when I was starting to get a drugged hazy feeling in the morning. I also realized that it was moderating the sensations during sex, not ED, I just couldn't finish. I later told my doctor at that time that I had to cut back down. She was surprised that 900 was enough, but said if that worked for me then okay.

That's all good to know Steve! I am having the same issue with the "finish" which started on Requip last year. I had hoped it would pass when I was off the Requip but, so far, not happening no matter the dose of Lyrica. I'm also having the 'drugged hazy feeling' you mentioned since starting the Lyrica. For now I'll give it all some time to sort itself out while I enjoy the nice sleep. Are you able to drink alcohol at all with the gabapentin? Thanks again for your thoughts.

I was able to drink alcohol while on gabapentin and DAs, but I haven't had anything to drink in the last year since I started on methadone instead of the DAs. My methadone dose is low, but my body mass is so low that I don't want to run the risk of mixing an opioid and alcohol (and I really miss it at times).

Steve, I have a few tablespoons of wine with dinner a few times a month. Satisfies the urge, but is such a small amount, I am not compromised.

Unfortunately, my allergies do not allow me to drink wine with the exception of champagne and I can hardly justify opening a bottle of champagne if I can only drink a few tablespoons. Besides, it isn't worth the major hassle that I would get from my wife if I tried. I can understand her concerns. She allowed me to take one sip of champagne at a New Years Eve party, but watched me like a hawk to make certain that it was only one sip to fit in with the celebration.

Well after 2 nights of slid 6+ hours of sleep, I guess I pushed my luck. I drank 2oz of wine at 2030 with my girlfriend. We went to bed at 2100, I think I got to sleep near 2300, woke at 2330 with arm movement, got up at midnight and went to my chair where arm calmed. I dozed and went back to bed at 0100 and slept til 0400, layed awake for a bit and then slept from 0430 til 0700. The drugged feeling this morning is no worse that it has been but the wine obviously minimized the good effects of the Lyrica. I'm not going to try that again for awhile. Now I'll be happy to continue the 250mg and try for a few more of those 6 hour nights. I wonder if alcohol will cause the same problems with Horizant?

I hadn't been reading this post because the topic didn't apply to me at all but knowing how posts tend to meander, I skipped to the last page and sure enough, it had nothing to do with erectile dysfunction but was more of general RLS topics.

Yankiwi - As is the way of most conversations. :)

No doubt if original poster or any of the contributors or interested readers want to pull it back on track they will readily do so.

Many of the longer threads are inclined to drift - I like to think it's because we are interested in each other and so, like a conversation over coffee, the content meanders.

Polar Bear, I'm glad you responded as you did above. It gave me time to think about how I should respond and, more importantly, whether I should bother. You are much more diplomatic than I. Thanks!
