Corrie, Vera on the Yahoo site always uses the same class for her holidays and it keeps her from getting tolerance to the med. I don't know how many people here use holidays. Dr B recommends holidays from methadone using Ultram - still a pain med although it doesn't work quite the same way - is it in the same class? Not sure. I would think that one of the hardest things is the time spent building up to the best dose. With neurontin, if you find that 1200 mg works, it takes a couple of weeks to get there! And with many you can't stop abruptly - you have to taper. I think those could make it difficult depending on the med.

I'm with Corrie, Ian. Hope that it works. Keep us informed; it's great to have more options!

No, Ann, Ultram is not in the same class as methadon (opiate versus half-opiate I think)
