Sounds like you need to adjust medications to deal with the back pain too. Also read this book, if you can, it's the best book on pain I've seen (all the others I read or looked at imply that you're mentally defective if you feel pain, and this one in no way does): Explain Pain by David Butler. It's expensive, unfortunately.
