New Doctor

Post by debbluebird »

I finally made the decision to go and see the specialist (sleep doctor) in Denver. I may have said that before, but this time, I am following through with it. I have an appt. with primary Nov 13th. Will get the referral then. I'm sure she will be releaved.
I was up most of last night. Not looking forward to the next few months, since I'm no longer going to take the oxy. I did that in Sept, but on our trip restarted it, due to needing sleep.

Where is the sleep specialist? Is it the clinic Steve goes to at UC-Denver? If so, I think you will be pleased and relieved, and there is every chance that your life will get much better !! I certainly hope so.

Deb, please let me know which doctor that you get assigned (by PM if you prefer). My doctor is Dr Jean Tsai, who works in what they call Consultative Neurology, but her specialties are sleep medicine and RLS. There are also two doctors in the Movement Disorder group, Dr Klepitskaya and Dr Kluger both do RLS research, but I get the impression that neither one sees patients that are not involved in their research work.

My appointment is January 2, in Denver. I am not very optimistic though, because I feel like I have done everything. I can only hope for a new miracle drug.

deb - Not too long until 2 Jauary..... you feel like you have done everything - that's why you're now going up a level for medical advice. Well done for that.

If you make a wee note of what questions you'd like to ask it takes the strain out of trying to remember.

Deb, having a compassionate doctor who respects you, who understands about WED/RLS, and who works with you to find an effective treatment can make a huge difference in quality of life. Hugs and happiness and a life-changing doctor for the new year
