Mental RLS triggers

So. I just learned that my RLS doesn't like reading about Alzheimer's Disease. Nor does it like reading about Narcicisstic Parents  (a little too close to home I guess).

It doesn't like boredom. It doesn't like anxiety. It doesn't like long flights or concerts...

I think there was a post about this awhile ago. I'm curious about what other people's mental triggers are. I wonder if anyone's RLS is triggered by happiness?

I have also been very triggered by massage in the past. Not every time, but sometimes. Therapist said, "Oh this is great, you are releasing." Looking back I'm not so sure...

Laughing triggers it for me. Mildly, but consistently.
Also, thinking about it can trigger it (trying to describe it, for instance).
Just focusing my attention on my ankles or wrists will trigger it (when it starts up, those places are where it spreads out from).

Realising that I don't have symptoms at the moment i.e. thinking about it !! As if the symptoms are always just bubbling away in the background wailing on a 'Hello'.

Oh wow that seems especially cruel! ie the minute you appreciate your relief it reappears. Ugh.

Wow. RLS is definitely a neurological disorder!

When I don't have symptoms my brain just lies in wait thinking it could be any minute now. I'm good in the day if I can keep moving but the witching hour is any time in the evening before or after eight and nine when I take my ropinerole, then every few hours in the night when I wake up with pain and have to walk around or stretch, squat etc until it is "safe" to go back to bed. One night recently I walked 1.5k between midight and six. I carry my phone around to count the steps.

Stress or any kind of disruption triggers it for me. If I am uninterrupted, I can sometimes go to sleep. But these disruptions throw me off and it can take a lot of using the foam roller and other techniques to get me back to a place where I can try again.

Reminds me of PTSD, or at least anticipatory anxiety! :(

I'm recovering from spinal surgery and spend a good deal of time in the recliner with my feet up...I"m bored but there isn't much I can do. RLS feeds on this. Ugh! I get up and walk around but I can't do that for long. This is torture. Hoping to find help here.
