menstruation and rls
Have any of the ladies out there noticed their RLS is worse around their monthly cycle? I have RLS almost everynight but it is worse a week before I start my period.

Karin, it is slightly more common in women (hypothesized because of iron and/or hormone issues).
I don't think that is why that many more women post, though!

menstration and rls
Thank you for posting about this. I thought it was just my BC pills but that makes more sense. I just finished my cycle and the twitching isn't gone, but has subsided greatly. Does anyone know if there is a link between BC pills and rls?

Hi everyone I'm brand new to this board and organization, and this was the precise topic I was hoping to find. YES, my RLS is much, much worse the week before my period begins, plus I'm in the middle of perimenopause, which just makes it worse. Now I know I'm not crazy. lol I'm sorry you all experience worse symtoms during that time, too, but it does feel good knowing I'm not alone.

I'm right there with you, Stacia. Now when I'm found to be "missing" from bed at night my husband has to ask, "legs or just flashing?" My insomnia has quadupled, now sleeping about 2 hours most nights, and others sleeping an hour here, up 2-3 and sleeping another hour or so. Some days I find myself just going through the motions on automatic pilot!
