It's bad enough having RLS, but, as I discovered the other day/night it can be worse.
I had an attack of gout in the left foot which was one of the worst I've ever had. Lying in bed reading a book (I can pretend the RLS isn't going to start) with my left foot hanging over the end where it could 'cool off' seemed ok. Then the RLS kicked in, and my automatic reaction was to shake the leg. Bad idea. That REALLY hurt. I only shook my leg twice that night, resorting otherwise to rubbing the leg.
Anyway, that got me to thinking how awful it would be to break a leg and have it in a plaster caste. Getting RLS THEN would be sheer torture.
