Happy New Year

Post by ViewsAskew »

I can't get the Who song from Tommy out of my head today, "Have a feeling '21 is going to be a good year. Especially if you and me see it in together." etc. And I feel we are in it together. All of us.

Here's to hope. Peace. Understanding. Respect of others. Empathy. Courage. Strength. Wisdom. Things I see in all of us, everyday. If we remember that this year is actually made up of lots of individual moments, and we cherish each moment and accept that moment for what it is, we will have an awesome year.

As I start this year, I am starting with a few prayers to help guide me.

A Prayer to Live With Grace
May we discover through pain and torment,
the strength to live with grace and humor.
May we discover through doubt and anguish,
the strength to live with dignity and holiness.
May we discover through suffering and fear,
the strength to move toward healing.
May it come to pass that we be restored to health and to vigor.
May Life grant us wellness of body, spirit, and mind.
And if this cannot be so, may we find in this transformation and passage
moments of meaning, opportunities for love
and the deep and gracious calm that comes
when we allow ourselves to move on.

Let your love flow outward through the universe,
To its height, its depth, its broad extent,
A limitless love, without hatred or enmity.
Then as you stand or walk,
Sit or lie down,
As long as you are awake,
Strive for this with a one-pointed mind;
Your life will bring heaven to earth.

Thanks Ann, those are beautiful. Learning to empathize with others may the greatest thing we can learn to do. Hope your New Year 2005 is a great one. Love and peace to all who read this (as well as a good nights sleep!) Ruby
