New Yorker article

Post by eliza1939 »

There is a fascinating piece in last week's New Yorker about itching: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008 ... ct_gawande

I was wondering if anyone has read this? While it's focused mostly on itching and phantom limbs, it has me enthralled with the possible connections to RLS. My RLS can
come and go if I can trick myself mentally, or focus deeply on other things. Moreover, if I start thinking about the RLS, the sensations come back.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this, and wonder if there might be some correlation between RLS and sensory nerves which have gone "out of whack" (like those described in the article). I'm fascinated with this idea and would love to discuss with anyone who's read the article!
