I seem to recall at least two people who used a cane - Nadia from Australia was one. I haven't seen her post in ages. I hope she's OK.

My RLS is probably in the most common category - the weird, nasty, annoying sensations that make me HAVE to move. But, no pain, really. Frustrating, anxiety producing, changes my mood instantly...but it doesn't hurt or affect my gait or anything.

It seems a very small group who have this extreme pain to the point it affects the ability to walk. I know Nadia had every test known to man run and they hadn't found anything else. It could be that there is a genetic strain of RLS that is different enough that is is experienced a very different way, as you experience it.

I wish I had something more supportive to say - it's always nice to hear that someone else really understands what you're going through. Unfortunately, I can't say that. I can empathize, though with most of the other parts - sleeplessness, hopelessness, being viewed strangely by others, etc. I wish none of us ever had to go through that again.
