feeling foggy

In another thread the feeling of being 'spaced out' while on medication was briefly touched upon.
Is it sometimes a case of putting up with symptoms or feeling a bit foggy.
Today I prepared to do some ironing, plugged in the iron and the light did not come on. I plugged into another socket and the iron light still did not come on. I took away the extension lead and the iron still did not come on.
So it must be the iron itself.
Into the garage and hunted for a fuse and put it into the plug. Iron still did not come on...... drat... Now what do I do.
Then I saw the on/off switch on the iron.
It was off !!
Usually the iron is switched on and off at the wall.
How could I not have checked this ??
Or is it age......
Or does everyone do this, and we are just over aware cos we are on medications.
