Getting drugs in the US

I've been researching Medicare for my MIL and drug cards. My DH came across this today:

It helps people that can't afford medicine to get it. I can't vouch for how the program works, but it sounds good. If you don't have insurance, it sure looks worth looking into. You can contact the durg companies directly, but this looks like it might be easier. You'd still need to go to a doc and get a script, though.
