As it turned out, taking a second dose after 2:30 pm caused insomnia.
Today I decided to just add it to my 2:30 dose. I take such a small amount that I think it will work. If I add anymore, I think the morning will be best. I'm still under 2mg.

So is the Suboxone working now? It works for me but then I am always busy doing something or moving my legs while sitting. I’m just glad that I can actually sleep. I am always a little fearful that it will stop working one day. So far so good. One thing I do is take a sip of water before putting it under tongue because sometimes I know it is too dry to absorb and I have to take an extra 1mg.

Yes, it's working. Though some nights I have trouble sleeping even though I'm not having any RLS. Then there are other nights where I sleep 9 hours. It's very inconsistent.

I've had to increase the buprenorphine.
I'm now up to 2 mg. I was still taking it at 2 pm and just after 5pm. I kept increasing because I keep getting RLS. The Dr wanted me to start stretching exercises and that's when my RLS got worse.
Is it the kind of med that your body keeps wanting more ? That's happened to me before with oxy. I just had some RLS wake me up at 5:30 am this morning.
Or should I just spread out the doses into 3 or 4 times a day? I don't want to increase it any further.

If you were to spread it out to either 3 or 4 doses keeping within your current daily max of 2mg, you might consider making the earliest dose slightly less and reserve the little balance to add to the last evening dose.

I was taking 2mg at first but then I had to increase it to 4mg and that has lasted for many years. I take it 4 times a day. When I cut them up I use a go-by on a piece of paper to cut by the lines (I printed it out and laminated it. I actually have 2 of these. I purchased 16 plastic contact lens cases which hold 2 each to keep them sealed. So I use 2 contact lens cases which hold 2 Suboxone pieces each. So I cut them up and have 8 day supply (Ringo Star's 8 day a week lol) I never cut it perfect so I take the largest one in morning, the next to largest at noon, the smaller one at 6 pm and the smallest at 8:30 pm. I use cases marked L (left) for morning and R for evening) It isn't exact but I actually think it helps. I also keep 4 extra pieces for when it doesn't seem to work at all. Sometimes I think it was because my mouth was too dry or I drank or ate something before it all dissolved.

I am pretty hyper but I don't do much exercising after 3 pm so I can sleep better. I never have a graving for more Suboxone, to me it just makes me normal and I don't feel any kind of high from it.

Oh yeah, never try to just stop taking it because the withdrawals are terrible. The rectangles I use to cut the suboxone are also in 1/8 doses. I got it from a guy online who found a way to get off Suboxone by every week or so he would take 1/8 less dose. He was taking 8mg a day as he was getting off drugs with it.

Thanks for your response. I have tiny scissors that I use to cut it in half. So far it's working out. My RLS is gone and I'm sleeping. 9+ hours a night.

The last few weeks I have been hurting all over. I have a lower back problem that is getting worse but is the extra pain that is really getting me down. It is getting so I have pains all over my muscles mainly towards the ends like hip, knees ankles, upper and lower arms.My hands even hurt. It doesn’t matter if I exercise or not it just keeps getting worse.

I wonder if it is my RLS getting worse although I can sleep except the pain is starting to wake me up at night. I have a feeling it’s part of old age though. I can physically do any activities I want but it just hurts so bad. I might just have to ignore the pain and do what I want to do.

I also find I ache all over most of the time. I have osteoarthritis and compressed nerves in the lumber area. My Movement Disorder Consultant would say that this can trigger rls.
I don't know. I don't feel my rls is worse but my aches and pains are tho they can come and go from day to day.

EeFall, you might want to get labs drawn to see if it's arthritis and what kind. They all can cause pain, but there are treatments for certain ones.

You are probably correct. I need to make a yearly appointment with my MD soon and I will mention it. Taking Suboxone is not good for pain medicine, it pretty much makes them not work.

It is Fibromyalgia according to my Sleep Doctor. I went to see him at my yearly appointment and told him how I was getting this increasing pain at all these points on my body and he knew immediately that it was Fibromyalgia and he brought a picture up on his computer showing where the pain is and it is at every single point. I have heard of it but don't really know much about it. For some reason it has gotten really painful quickly. It totally sucks, I have been hoping they would find a cure for RLS and then not only is there not one I also have something else without a cure. I am really ticked off, it's just that I don't know who to be ticked off at. I also have regular arthritis that is mostly in my hands.

The main problem now is that it is difficult to find a place to lay on the bed at night to sleep that does not hurt. For a long time I would lay on my left side but now that hurts too. Good lord it is getting so ridiculous that I just start laughing about it. My wife has her health problems too and we do shake our heads in wonder at how things have changed since our carefree teenage years. I actually have known my wife since the 3rd grade. We have had an interesting life.

I have had fibromyalgia for 40+ years and find that it can wax and wane. I hope this is the case for you.

EEfall - When you wake up from “breakthrough” symptoms, what is it like? Do you get the urge to move or does it just suddenly wake you up from sleep?
