I think the statistic is that 90% of us have been exposed to it. And some of us never have problems, but we can pass the virus on. I am surprised 100% of us do not have it!

As a teen I often had cold sores, and yes sunshine is a massive trigger.
They have lessened as I've gotten older and now it's usually one around March/April but not the humungous monsters that would spread.
I read recently that the cold sore ointment i.e. Zvorax or the like needs to cover a much wider area than the cold sore itself as the virus is lurking in the surrounding area.
