Suggestions Needed For Fighting Sleepiness During The Day

Hi All,
I am wondering if you'd share your habits, ideas, tricks for becoming more alert and awake? I'm abstaining from coffee and all caffeinated products because they worsen my symptoms. I've noticed an adrenaline rush after a close call with death is very helpful, but I can't sustain that on a daily basis.

I'd appreciate your advice. Thanks!

A walk in the cold winter air helps me wake up during the day. Unfortunately I have to eventually come back in to warm up and once I get comfortable it all comes crashing back down again. Thankfully I am usually able to nap at these times since I am not working anymore.

Some of the strains of kratom help make you more alert. I use the green strain or maeng da if I'm getting too sleepy in the daytime.

I find that finding a chore to do helps me to focus and 'get through the wall'.

Also, like Rustsmith, some cold air.... even a splash on the face with cold water.
But it does eventually again catch up.

Kratom is helpful. But, I do drink coffee, too. Didn't for over 20 years but my neuro recommended it to me and after awhile I started using it. Any activity helps and as Polar Bear said, most activities help. But, I couldn't work well now. I had a hard time teaching last year because I'd lose my train of thought and not be able to concentrate.

I too had to stop coffee. It wasn't cutting it anymore, anyway.

I use modafinil (Alertec). I have tried going without it a number of times - most recently, the 10 days before today while a kidney stone was moving through me - but every time, I have the most dragging sleepiness all day. I don't think I would be able to keep my job without it. I might not keep it anyway! - but at least it gives me a fighting chance.
