Welcome to psorlin
Tuesday, January 14
Welcome to
psorlin, who has suffered for 15 years from RLS/WED and only seldom sleeps without vigilant stretching of the calves.
If you will post a note telling us what you are doing to manage your RLS beyond stretching, we can probably provide some suggestions for improving your sleep.

Welcome to akhar53
Saturday, January 18
Welcome to
akhar53, whose RLS is making it hard to find a doctor. Clonazepam has helped her 95% of the time. However, doctors are no longer willing to give her the drug. Ropinirole caused her to go crazy, she had the impulse to kill herself and was falling down all the time. The list is much longer. She didn't know what was wrong for many years. She now has hip and knee troubles because of it. For many years she could only sleep for 3 or 4 hours per night.
If you will post a note to give us an idea of where you live, we can either point you toward a doctor that understands RLS or give you some suggestions on the best way to find one (even if it means having to educate a doctor who is willing to learn).

Welcome to Stacym
Monday, January 20
Welcome to
Stacym, who is 46 yrs old and has been struggling with RLS since she was in my her 30s. Her meds are no longer effective and her doctor is not trained in RLS- at one point even making fun of her condition. She has no where else to turn.
Please post a note telling us about your meds, we can offer you some suggestions both about changing meds to something that is effective and in the process that you need to do to find a new doctor who is willing to provide the care that you deserve.

Welcome to Mycrazylegs
Monday, January 20
Welcome to
Mycrazylegs, whose RLS makes life miserable. It starts early in the day.

Welcome to Kfishburn
Monday, January 20
Welcome to
Kfishburn, who has had RLS for 25 years, It has gotten worse each year. Kfishburn has an excellent sleep DR that wants to use oxycodone after the other drugs stopped working but Kfisburn can’t find a DR that will prescribe it.
You are right that you have a great sleep doctor if (s)he wants to use oxy after you failed other meds. Many of us have either had to start calling all the local doctors that accept our insurance to ask if they will consider prescribing low dose opioids or else we have had to travel to see a neurologist at the closest teaching hospital, where the opioid hysteria often doesn't seem to be as bad.
If you will post a note and give us an idea of where you are located, we may be able to offer some other suggestions on how to proceed.

Welcome to latitude26
Tuesday, January 21
Welcome to
latitude26, whose 81 y.o. mother is still active and independent but is suffering from Augmentation which is making her miserable. latitude has been on ropinirole for 1 yr primarily to treat incapacitating night time muscle rigidity/"leg cramps" and hyperthermic episodes , which thankfully it has. But latitude's RLS symptoms are increasing and she doesn't want to end up like her poor mom! latitude is hoping to help her mother gather information to take to her doctor and find a practitioner that can help her withdraw and find another treatment for her severe RLS and so latitude I can obtain more info to be more proactive with her disease.
For info in augmentation, take a look through our Augmentation forum. For more specific advice, we can help you out if you post a message with any questions that you have. Most of us have been through augmentation, so we understand and want to help both of you as much as we can.

Welcome to Dakotaboyd
Wednesday, January 22
Welcome to
Dakotaboyd, who is not sleeping well which isn't good when you're a single mother of 2 boys. She can't seem to find any relief. She has even tried rubbing Apple cider vinegar on her legs before going to bed.
Please post a note telling us whether you have been treated by your doctor for this and if so, what meds have you tried. Relief could be as simple as taking an iron supplement, but we need to know more.

Welcome to Moosh66
Wednesday, January 22
Welcome to
Moosh66, who has Restless Arm Syndrome which is the same as the RLS but only in the arms. It interrupts Moosh's sleep and Moosh can't sit still.
My previous doctor says that the "L" in RLS should stand for Limbs because it can happen just about anywhere in the body. If you will post a note telling us what you are doing to manage your "RAS" then we may be able to offer some suggestions to help you gain control.
