Re: Blood pressure meds safe for rls
I take Lisinopril 5 mg. I've been taking it for about 6 months, and no problems at all so far. What is interesting, I think, is that I'm quite elderly, and never seemed to need blood pressure meds. Then, one night while I was up with RLS, I took my blood pressure and it was very high. So for the next couple of weeks I did then again, and it was almost always high at night, but low during the day. I told my primary care doc this, and she said the rise was probably just a side effect of the RLS. Then I told my cardiologist and he said no, he wanted me to take a blood pressure med. Since my mother had a pretty major stroke when she was the age I am now, I agreed. I take the pill at night and so far it has controlled my nighttime BP without giving me any side effects. But statins! They are something else! I cannot seem to take them without getting fairly severe leg pain.

I also take lisinopril 5 mg - no issues. Mine is usually only high in the morning, so I take it at night before bed.
Ann - Take what you need, leave the rest
