Hats off to dubious and delusional diseases

Post by slee »

Another article about questionable illnesses. This time there were several illness discussed and what bothered me most was an MD was involved in the discussion and questioned RLS. Here is the website:

i'll post my reply here too, sorry guys if it offends!

Doctor Billy, sounds like a cartoon character and apparently you got your degree out of a cracker jack box! As for your buddy Mark....must just be a moron you met and asked to help you write this stupid article. if you recall years ago doctors used to treat patients by drilling holes in their heads and shocking them till their brains were fried but since some intelligent doctors did research, doctors don't do that crap anymore! It's amazing how fast the medical community jumped on the limp dick bandwagon and found a pill to help it. I assume since these other conditions have nothing to do with a mans penis they are not worthy of researching hmmmmmm. Shame on you MSNBC for even letting these two near a computer.

signed

the assoc. for the i am only imagining my dick is limp.

if i get censored here go to the article and read my post

I MEAN HONESTLY, HOW MANY LIMP WEENIE COMMERCIALS ARE ON TV? AT LEAST 4 AND 1 TO MAKE THE DAMN THING BIGGER.....HOW MANY RLS 2 HOW MANY FIBRO 1 FRIGGIN MORONS

no offense to the men on this board....but please you have got to see the stupidity

My initial reply went up right away

But the one where I sarcastically questioned their editorial credability, aka the agenda of MSNMC.. a big corporate company just like the pharma companies.. has yet to appear

Here's mine. I'm sure it'll never show up.

I'm puzzled why this article links to another of MSNBC's own articles, titled, "Restless legs in the genes, not the imagination", and then goes on to lump RLS in with a group referred to as "dubious, delusional and purely psychosomatic diseases."

Furthermore, your on-staff doctor is negligent in his research. If he took the time to check current literature, he'd find that there has been a breakthrough in transcranial ultrasound that can identify the majority of RLS sufferers by certain abnormalities in the brain. See the end of this post for a link to an article.

Unfortunately, your on-staff doctor decided to phone this one in. He wrote a prideful, egotistical, snide, and insulting monograph without foundation in knowledge or fact. Frankly, I would suggest that you discontinue your relationship with him, because no doctor should be so wantonly insulting to people in pain, nor so woefully ignorant of what causes it. He is a fool, and, should you continue to retain him as one of your writers, so are you all.

I'll bet his response to that would be "That research could be disputed", just like he tried to play off with the gene research.

You guys are awesome!

Hard to believe a person can spend all those yrs in med school and be so clueless.

Here's what kills me. Why would any of us manufacture a condition as crazy-sounding as RLS? What would we gain from taking Parkinson's meds, which have many nasty side effects? I get why people think the pharm companies just want add'l $$$ but for a doc to laugh at us (I dropped my OB/Gyn for that) to me doesn't add up.

I'd like to fancy myself a better person than this, but unfortunately I'm not. I hope anyone, esp docs, who laugh us off, ends up with RLS someday.

Weird. There are plenty of posts insulting the doctors, but mine never made it up. I wonder what they didn't like.

Edit: Maybe I wasn't hysterically angry enough, so they were worried I'd look credible.
