I have a very bad cold...the whole nine yards of misery.
My doctor told me to take Sudafed PE, which is a nasal decongestant. It is not an antihistamine and does not contain pseudoephedrine.
I read that antihistamines can add to your RLS symptoms and should be avoided. Do any of you know if this Sudafed would be okay to take?
Thanks so much.

Dale, it should be OK. It's not an antihistamine and I've not heard of issues with decongestants and RLS. That said, I haven't used it and have no personal experience with it. But, I'd take it if I felt it necessary.
Sorry about the cold; hubby gave me one two weeks ago which I was just getting over when I got sick with a different version....and gave it to me again! Last one was a coughing one, this one is a head/congestion one. So far I've been using Zicam regularly and sucking on zinc tablets; it's really helped reduce the severity.
Blech.

Ann,
Thanks so much. I'm going to start taking it right away.
Mine is the whole nine yards...sore throat, temperature, congestion, hacking cough, running nose...did I leave anything out?
I think I got mine at the library which is overrun with toddlers coughing in each other's faces. I don't understand why their parents or nannies don't teach them to cover their mouths when they cough.
I hope you're feeling better real soon.

I've been using the nasal spray decongestants several times over the winter and haven't noticed any extra rls.

Glad it's helping.
After I wrote my note to you, I went up to bed and read for awhile. All the sudden I felt this rush of congestion (worse than before) starting and a painful sore throat.
I HATE COLDS!!!!!
