poem

Post by skygreen »

Kind of sums it up for me too! Except I would like to belive that God is in control as I have turned it over to him. I cannot fight this by myself. No one can!

That's great!
I have come to dread going to bed at night! I never thought I would get to this point!

poem

I, too, have often thought of my bed as a battlefield. I feel jealous of people who can sleep peacefully and dream the night away like I used to. Oh well, it could be worse. Your poem says it all!! By the way, God is in control!! Don't ever forget that!

It has to come out somewhere, some how. This is one of the ways I vent.
Thank you.
And FYI, it's wonderful to know someone like you.

Hi all

I'm a member of an Aussie ME/CFS support group and recently a challenge was set: If you could write two books, on any subject, what would they be called?

The below entry was posted by one of the members and had me rockin and rolling with laughter for quite a while, so I hope you all get a good laugh out of it too:

--- In cfssupport4sufferers@y..., "Daniel Smith" <nanou@i...> wrote:
On second thoughts (and based on a very recent experience... like 2 minutes ago recent) I'd like to submit my first official book entry:

GETTING A MIDNIGHT SNACK FOR DUMMIES

In three easy steps, with three easy principles.

1. If you are worried about waking other people in your household
by turning on the light: bugger them. The sound of clattering
cuttlery and dirty dishes (as you blindly grope for what you are
looking for) is much more likely to wake them as it travels through
walls, unlike a little light. This is known as the "Light-Noise
Compromise Principle".

2. If you know what you want, and can see what you want (a packet
of chicken chips for example) but it is hidden behind a carton of
Frosties, instant porridge, cookins, rice and about 20 different
Maggi sachets, then DO NOT fart around trying to carefully move each
object out of the way, pausing briefly when each makes the tiniest
sound. Reach your hand in to the cupboard, grasp the object firmly
and remove it. A short sharp noise is much better than a prolonged
rumbling of packets. This is known as the "Preferable Aural
Experience Principle." The "Preferable Aural Experience Principle"
works for getting a glass of water too. Rather than run the tap at a
piddly trickle for 5 minutes, filling up the glass a nanometer per
second, turn it on quickly, so the glass is poured full of water in
2 seconds. Then stop the tap before flooding the kitchen.

3. Ensure you have everything you wish to take back to bed IN YOUR
HANDS as you turn out the light. Do not, for example, keep hold of
the packet of Chicken Chips, but neglect to pick up the glass of
water before turning off the light, then stumble blindly to find it
making a crash-bang noise every few seconds, finnally give in and
turn on the light, see the glass, swear loudly, then turn the light
off again. This is called the "Final Accountability Principle."

At the moment I'm thinking:
Insomnia for Dummies.
or
Insomnia for the Penilecaphylic (sp??)

but I'll come up with something a little more wittier and clever
tomorrow lol

My philosophy is simply this: Life is too short to be diplomatic. Your friends should not care what you do, or say; and for those who are not your friends ... their loss!!!

To Skygreen, Jan, and all the believers:

God is almighty and merciful! God is in control when He wants to be... :?

I personally believe that God probably does not micromanage people and I always liked the age-old adage (translated freely from Hungarian):

Help yourself, (then) God will also help! (Segits magadon, Isten is megsegit!) :)

It was funny! We all need a laugh. :D Thanks for sharing!

I am waiting with baited breath to hear what your active mind will come up with (dangling preposition) for insomniac dummies!

From a believer

Post by jan3213 »

Sorry, I seem to have stepped on some toes. But, I still BELIEVE that God is in control, we just don't always get the answer we want. Sometimes, God has other plans for us, and I DO believe he actually He does "micromanage" people, as you put it, Jumpy. He actually cares for each individual. Busy guy, isn't He? I guess we're all entitled to our own beliefs, aren't we? And, we'll all find out who's right or wrong some day. I'll try to keep my "beliefs" out of the posts from now on.

Jan, sorry!

Post by jumpyowl »

You did not step on my toes, Jan. Honest! You inspired me so I also shared my beliefs.

I do not even disagree with you. And I am actually glad when people bring religious belief into discussion. In today's world dominated by secular humanism, we certainly do not have enough of that.

Perhaps I stepped on some toes? If so, I am sorry! Please do not do what you closed your post with!

I guess we're all entitled to our own beliefs, aren't we? And, we'll all find out who's right or wrong some day. (We sure will, and I will probably do that sooner than anybody in this discussion group). I'll try to keep my "beliefs" out of the posts from now on. (Please, don't). - comments in parentheses are mine, J.O.

Pax vobiscum! Peace be with you all!

GOOD!!! Thanks Jumpy. :) As you can see, I sometimes misinterpret things! Even though I thought I stepped on your toes, it didn't change my opinion of you. I STILL think you're a great person, as I said in my email. I should have said that in my post. Peace to you, too.
