Can anyone recommend a doctor in North Carolina? I could also travel to South Carolina, if necessary.

that specialazises in RSl .they charge $350 for a consultation and $90-150 for follow up appointments.

That is addition to programs at various hospital clinics at Mt Sinai, Presbytarian Hospital, and other that do have sleep departments but are training grounds for sleep sleep specialists and you do not get quality care you get at Mayo clinic or from doctor B.

in plant city fl there is a neurologist named Dr. Digeronomo. He was my life saver. He prescribed me 120 hydrocodone 10/325 and 60 extended release morphine 15mg. I was finally able to live.

I just moved from Texas to a mid-sized town in Colorado. I therefore had to change all of my doctors. For my GP, I chose an adult clinic that is associated with the local hospital. The reasoning was that I would have a better chance getting a doctor who had some knowledge of RLS by seeing a young doctor going through his/her residency. That turned out to be right. My GP knew about both RLS and the Foundation, so when I asked to be referred to one of the specialists at the medical school in Denver rather than a local neurologist who won't prescribe opiates, his only question was whether the doctors in Denver would. I am therefore getting my referral to the med school doctors.

The moral of this story is that you may have a better chance getting a doctor who is aware of RLS and is willing to work with you if you try one who is young and just out of med school. These doctors are more likely to be aware of RLS and more willing to learn by working with you.

degan, unfortunately it's unlikely anyone will see that who hasn't already responded. Not trying to be negative - rather trying to set expectations :-). So many of our members only check in when they need help and many forget to share the good things - such as great doctors - when they are here.

This is the link from badnights signature

This link has a lot of information about augmentation and is likely to include information about coming of a DA medication, i.e. Ropinerole.
Hope this helps.

Anyone know of a doctor in the Albany NY area? I have seen Dr. Moho who is listed on this website but can assure patients he has no clue about augmentation and just wants to keep upping my dose of Pramipexole. I have an appointment for a consultation at Johns Hopkins on June1 bit will have to drive a long way and pay out of pocket. Any suggestions are helpful...

Dr. Moho isn't listed here on the discussion board, is he? He most likely is on the RLS.org main site. That list is a bit tricky because any doc can put his or her name on it. Most of us have had mixed (at best) luck with it.

I can't recall anyone ever posting about Albany....but, have you tried a site search on either New York or Albany? I know it's a long short, but maybe.

I really wish more of our members would share the name of their fav doc. But, then again, I live in Chicago and still haven't found anyone who really gets it, so I fly to California! I have family and friends there, so I just have to pay for the flight and maybe a rental car.

As of 2016, the following doctors are on the RLS Medical Advisory board. I'd guess that any of them - and maybe their associated facility - would be excellent to see. I haven't seen some of these US cities before: New York City; Greenville, NC; Hershey, PA; Johns Creek, GA, Nashville and Memphis, TN; new Haven, CT; and Albuquerque, NM. Good news, indeed.

In Europe, we have Switzerland, which I do not recall seeing, either. Would be nice to representation from Central and Western Canada - we've had Montreal covered for a long time.

Degan - I just came across your post, kinda by accident....

My daughter sees doctors at Montifore. The neurology has been great there. They have adult and pediatric centers...

They have changed her life for the better.
