JUNE 2018 - NEW MEMBERS
Saturday, June 2
Welcome to
imawanderer, whose progressively diminishing sleep over a 45-year span due to RLS has impacted her life in a myriad of ways, including possibly paving the way for 2004 breast cancer. She has had RLS treatment all along (during early years by perusing research in medical school libraries and educating her doctors). Now her medical assistance comes from an RLS credentialed institution. But with her RLS off the NIH charts during the past year, she has finally lost patience—which, actually has been a positive gain from RLS—she has learned patience, the value of not complaining and how to create ways to deal with the hand she has been dealt. However, this past year she hit the high water mark of sleep deficiency and has set the RLS solution as her top priority.
Please post a note telling us a bit about the treatments that you have tried and what you are doing now. Although it appears that you are very well versed in RLS treatments, perhaps we can offer some new ideas to think about.

Welcome to ppp
Sunday, June 3
Welcome to
ppp, who has been suffering from excessive daytime sleepiness(EDS) since she was a teenager and the condition is getting so serious that she had to quit her job and focus on finding the reason behind her EDS. At first she thought she belonged to Idiopathic Hypersomnia but the more she looks into online materials related to sleep disorders, the more she is convinced that she has RLS because she has always had the sensations under her legs during childhood and sometimes I couldn't get back to sleep when she woke up in the middle of the night.
Please take a look at the diagnostic criteria published by the International RLS Study Group (IRLSSG) to decide whether you have RLS. If so, please post a note telling us about your symptoms and whether you have tried any medications up to now.

Note to PPP
You can just post a note if you want. Steve didn't mean that you have to read anything before you post, just meant that you might want to.
Beth - Wishing you a restful sleep tonight

Welcome to Reba1
7th June 2018
Today we welcome:
Reba1 - who finds that several “awake” hours are filled with such discomfort and anxiety that not only Reba1, but also the family is feeling the effects of RLS.
Reba1 tries “hide” symptoms so as not to upset others, but sometimes they see through the attempts.
Reba1 doesn't know from day to day what to expect; peaceful morning? Crazy legs all afternoon? Sleepless night? Depression and anxiety most of the day?
Most of us will find we could have written your post. You may already have read the information on the Just Joined Forum - A Good Place to Start. When you are ready please make a post or start your own thread telling us of your RLS History. We do understand that life is difficult and we want to help.

Welcome to SleepyJudy
Friday, June 8
Welcome to
SleepyJudy, who has been really struggling with RLS for at least 10 years, although she has had it off and on for 30 years. Not being able to get a solid night's sleep has made her feel hopeless at times. Being able to talk to others going through this and getting suggestions of things to try would help her not feel so alone.
You are in the right place to talk with others about coping with RLS. Please post a note telling us a bit about yourself and what you are doing to manage it.
