Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) Discussion Board

When I told a neurologist I had scoliosis and rls he said..."so that's why you have rls!" I haven't seen anything on this site about the co-existence of rls and scoliosis. Is there a correlation? If so, what about surgery?

My own Movement Disorder Consultant feels that back problems possibly may be a contributory factor in RLS, not necessarily a definite causation, that a back condition can cause all sorts of symptoms,
i have recently been diagnosed with narrowing of the spinal column and resultant compressed nerves. I've had RLS for 40+ years. I've also had ongoing niggling back/hip issues for the same time. Although now they are much more severe. Never before was there a connection suggested, until this Movement Disorder Consultant made comment. I've been seeing her for 2 years. My RLS symptoms are pretty much under control with medication.

It's an interesting article but it's more about RLS than having scoliosis with RLS. It was a good read the OP should probably read it too
