Re: What’s working for me

I found that if I take a magnesium supplement it has been helping a lot with my RLS. Still taking the Kratom though. Doing better at this point. Not taking a sleep aid either Does that mean you're not taking the diphenhydramine either? Did you find that the Advil PM was actually making things worse...

Re: Sleep Pod

I don't think it would work for me. Can you imagine having WED/RLS symptoms while encased in that thing? I would probably go ballistic. Something else to think about is fit. One of the photos shows a man and woman in bed, each wearing one of the pods. The woman's looks loose, meaning she wouldn't ge...

Re: Can Adult ADHD cause RLS

I am currently taking Ropinirole - 3.5mg per day. The maximum RLS dose is 4 mg per day. I have been taking Ropinirole for over 15 years ... so I am worried about augmentation as well as the fact that I am approaching the daily limit for RLS treatment. Tom, the dose you are taking, while ok as far a...

Re: going "cold turkey"

I'm glad the surgeries went well. And fantastic, that the card worked and the anesthesiologist adjusted appropriately. I have had nothing but good experiences informing anesthesiologists that way. Oh yikes, tachycardia! I am about to put on a Holter monitor, they just called me to schedule it. I hop...

Re: going "cold turkey"

I also let her know about the surgery tomorrow and I will be non-weight-bearing for a while and so will be unable to "walk it off". I suggested I would like to add .125 mg at suppertime for a week. She said that would be alright and she hoped my surgeon would be giving me pain killers. Just today I...

Definitely see Dr B. He will help you understand what's going on, and he will have a plan as well as alternate plans for how to deal with it.

Re: Need help for mom

Tammy, thanks for letting us know. I am so very sorry about the way your mom went. I just lost my mother, almost identically. She had Alzheimer's and had to be moved to a home in 2019. The lockdown was extremely hard on her, mentally and emotionally - - but also physically because the home she was i...

Re: Should the name RLS be changed?

I always use WED/RLS. The disease has two names and each name is valid. The Foundation did change its name in 2013, after the International RLS Study Group made a recommendation that the name of the disease be changed to Willis-Ekbom disease. In my estimation, the change would have taken a minimum o...

Re: Spinal Stimulator

Like I said before, it wasn't an easy process of trial and error, but it has been worth it. I hope my experience will help others. I am not the only one trying this option to help RLS. My Rep has told me that there are others with RLS who have a spinal stimulator.
Thank you for this, Deb.

Re: 1st post after 24 years of RLS

The sh** she was saying to me (later which she profusely apologized for) would make anyone with RLS lose their damn mind I somehow managed to change her mind That kind of stuff is maddening. Absolutely maddening. You somehow managed to make her see things clearly (clearly enough to do you some good...

Good luck with that, Rick. And thanks, Beth, for the head's up on the infusions. I've been having a week from hell with amoxicillin rash head-to-toe, so will make arrangements for a new blood test once I come out of this.
yikes, that sounds dreadful! Good luck

Re: Medication Timing

I've been taking pramipexole, 0.125 mg, as needed. Since achieving a ferritin level of 100, I have only needed to take medication intermittently. The problem I've had is that by the time I have restless legs, it is usually around bedtime and the med takes a couple of hours to kick in. Then I can't ...

Re: Follow up and Requip questions

I had bad reactions to Requip twice. The first time was 4 years ago when I first moved to South Dakota; I went to the doctor to set up care and she told me I was taking too high a dose of Mirapex and she would like to try Requip. I took one dose and I was like having a panic attack; I looked up the...

Re: Emory Healthcare in Atlanta - Anyone Use?

I am only now starting to feel hints of RLS again--but I am going through a stressful time (allergic reaction to antibiotics) so am not at all sure whether this is the iron wearing off or if it's just the high anxiety I'm going through. Just a headsup, it's probably the iron wearing off, it's been ...
