Re: Anyone go to Vanderbilt for treatment?

As there are no available appointments until July with anyone you then need to decide if you are happy to have a Zoom appointment with Dr Walters, or to try for a face to face appointment with one of the other doctors listed. I hope that there will be a member who is familiar with one of the other a...

Re: Sore thighs a symptom of RLS?

SleepyBhamster - I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad. You mention a new mattress. I found a good quality memory foam mattress makes for real comfort. I will clarify that, I felt the memory foam was just a little more firm than I wanted and so bought a 4" memory foam topper. The topper made such a wo...

Re: RLS in Parkinson's patients

With regard to RLS, Sinemet is not a drug to be taken regularly, i.e. every day. It will almost always result in worsening/augmentation RLS symptoms... if you have indeed got RLS. Low Ferritin can be a contributing factor to RLS. Ropinerole and Pramipexole both work for Parkinson's Disease and RLS, ...

Re: Struggling to find some balance

Sulybu - with regard to your insomnia I could have written your post. I sleep for about 2 hours, get up and read, check emails etc for 2 or 3 hours, and then back to bed at around 5 or 6am. If I'm lucky I'll get another 2 or 3 hours. Being retired I can sometimes get a decent daytime nap but more of...

Ann, what a great turnaround. Well done.
And how unfortunate indeed for those who are unable to 'fight their corner'.

Re: New Member Augmentation?

rondebbs - Welcome. You have not mentioned if your doctor did any blood checks. You need to have your Ferritin Serum blood checked and the level needs to be over 75, preferably over 100. It is generally accepted that a level of 20 is acceptable but this is not good enough for a sufferer of RLS. When...

Re: Must I have a sleep study done?

I'm sorry that your appointment with Dr Rye and your attempted follow up communication was so disappointing. I do understand why you have for the moment cancelled your zoom appointment with Dr Walters. It can often be difficult to talk adequately about how awful your rls symptoms are when you are ac...
