Who is your favorite doctor?

I’ve had a specialist I liked but he retired. My current primary care doctor doesn’t seem interested in talking more than two minutes about anything, let alone reading the recommended protocol from RLS.org. He’s been willing to keep prescribing the specialist’s medication protocol, but that’s not working anymore. I need to find a new specialist. I’m in the Seattle area, and on Medicare. Recommendations appreciated.

Unfortunately, the middle of the country is a sort of wasteland when it comes to RLS experts. There are doctors who are good in Denver and in San Francisco. You might be able to find someone who knows something about RLS at a medical school in Utah, but you will need to call and ask questions and then make an appointment for anyone who appears promising. However, if you do see someone, be prepared to be disappointed.

If you are willing to travel to Denver, there are several doctors who are RLS knowledgeable in the University of Colorado neurology department on their Anschutz campus. However, they require a referral from your doctor and I do not know if the accept referrals from outside of Colorado. Appointments with them also take about six months, even when you are an existing patient.
