Welcome to Lwerwin04

Post by Rustsmith »

Saturday, December 21

Welcome to

Lerwin04, who has been suffering since she was a young girl. It started in her feet and was relieved with movement and pressure. She is now 41 and in augmentation after the use of a dopamine antagonist for many years. That is causing sleep deprivation, it’s now more aggressive and in her arms. She is seeing a neurologist who is working with her on my iron panel, coming off ropinirole and switching to Horizant and other supplements.. She is desperately looking for answers.

All you need to do is post a message with your question(s) and we will provide as many answers as we can. Most of us have been where you are right now, which is not a good place, so we understand and sympathize with your situation.

Welcome to Guitar is my friend

Post by Rustsmith »

Wednesday, December 24

Welcome to

Guitar is my friend, who needs medication everyday. RLS has affected Guitar's social life for over 20 years. Guitar hasn’t taken a good nap in years..Yesterday Guitar had to leave a Christmas Eve service in the middle because of RLS.

Unfortunately, daily medication is something that we all have to put up with (including remembering to take it on time). We are sorry about the service, but attending functions that require remaining seated for long periods, such as movies and concerts, is something that many of us have given up or have to accept standing and pacing in the back.

If you have any questions, feel free to post a message so that we can try to help.

Welcome to Kellys

Post by Rustsmith »

Thursday, December 26

Welcome to

Kellys, who has had RLS for several years and will be detoxing from Requip in a couple weeks.

Requip withdrawal may be the single most difficult thing that you have ever had to do. Please read through our forum on augmentation to learn about what you are facing. Also, if you are currently taking more than 4mg/day, you absolutely MUST taper down to that level before trying to quit. Quitting from a dose higher than that will dramatically increase the probability of getting Dopamine Agonist Withdrawal Syndrome (DAWS). DAWS is not the same thing as normal withdrawal, which is hell in itself. DAWS is a long term condition that causes anxiety, depression and other severe symptoms that can easily be avoided by taking it slower.

If you have any questions, please post them. Many of us have been through what you face and really want to help you through this next phase of your life.

Friday, December 27

Welcome to

Sleepless in Alabama, whose leg moves at night when she is trying to rest. She wants to learn how to manage or beat it.

Your best bet is to educate yourself and then educate your doctor in the latest methods to manage your RLS. The absolute latest guidelines issued by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine can be found here and would be great to share with your doctor https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... guidelines

A more complete document can be found with the link in my signature.

Or, you can post a message and tell us a bit more about your symptoms so that we can try to point you in the right direction.
