Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

Please share your experiences, successes, and failures in using non-drug therapies for RLS/WED (methods of relief that don't involve swallowing or injecting anything), including compression, heat, light, stretches, acupuncture, etc. Also under this heading, medical interventions that don't involve the administration of a medicine to the body (eg. varicose-vein operations, deep-brain stimulation). Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

Post by Macadwel »

Hi all,
I know Repetitive Transcranial Magnetive Stimulation has come up a few times over the years, but I am wondering if anyone has had the RTMS and if it has worked?

It looks like the NIH and several other research institutions have been studying RTMS and it might be a positive treatment for RLS/WED. I know there is a new TM in a hospital near me and I am looking at having this done if allowed and would like to know if anyone else in our forum has had it done!
Thanks,
Mel

I would be interesting in hearing about it if you tried it. My therapist has offered to experiment to try to treat my RLS but I suspect that she would expect to be paid and I am not interested in paying to educate someone if there is little chance of success.
